Smartflyer Ltd. is on the threshold of a new era in aviation, moving from traditional combustion and jet engines for propulsion to aircraft that utilize pure electric, electric/gas hybrid, and electric fuel cell-based motors for propulsion.
Founder, CEO, and Design Head Rolf Stuber knew his team needed to be able to collaborative effectively and securely in order to develop innovative products and succeed commercially. His team also needed to be able to connect with teams in other countries in real-time.
Stuber chose to combine his existing SOLIDWORKS design software with Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS. By doing this, he connected his CAD software to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, a cloud-based product development platform where his team could easily and securely collaborate, communicate, and share data. “We don’t have to worry about software updates, data mirroring, or data backups, but can fully focus on the development of the Smartflyer,” said Stuber.
