SOLIDWORKS Simulation Best Practices

In numerical methods in general, discretization is an important task. In Finite Element Analysis (FEA), meshing can affect both solution accuracy and calculation time.

In the webinar, Senior Industry Process Consultant – Reza Tabatabai – will present capabilities in SOLIDWORKS Simulation with a focus on meshing, with some tips and tricks and best practices. This includes topics like solid/ shell/ beam elements, mesh algorithms, local mesh refinement, and adaptive meshing. We follow that with the variety of element types and formulations available in the structural roles on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and using ABAQUS technology. We also discuss meshing in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), contrasting the partial cell technology employed in SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation versus the Body-fitted mesh technology used in the Fluid Dynamics Engineer role.

We hope this session gives you a better understanding of meshing and what can be done in some of the Simulation offerings by Dassault Systèmes for FEA and CFD.
